Bulgaria and all European counties are threatened by terrorism: Europol’s Executive Director Rob Wainwright

Nearly 30,000 people in Europe are potentially part of terrorist communities and Bulgaria and all European counties are threatened by terrorism, Europol’s Executive Director Rob Wainwright told BTV channel. Today, the main threats are quite complex- we have witnessed an explosion of terrorist activity in the recent years. There are cyber threats and many groups that resemble mafia in many countries, Rob Wainwright specified. Europol’s Executive Director Rob Wainwright also commented the terrorist attack at Sarafovo Airport near Burgas. This is one of the most important cases in the history of terrorism in which Europol cooperated. The Bulgarian authorities gave Europol full access to information and we did a lot during the investigation, Rob Wainwright said.
