Prime Minister Borissov in Mostar: EU wants peace and prosperity in the Balkans, update

During the 21st International Economic Fair in Mostar, Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov urged everyone in the region, whether Muslim, Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or else, to show sound reason and patience as consequences would affect them. I am convinced that the European Union wants to unite around the goal of peace and prosperity in the Balkans," the Bulgarian Prime Minister said.

Commenting on tensions in recent weeks between Serbia and Kosovo and the adoption of a new election code in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, according to him if failed, would "permanently block" the country's EU accession process, Borissov also pointed out that leaders in the Balkans should solve problems with the understanding that "peace is the most important and everything else does not matter."

The Bulgarian prime minister voiced optimism that despite the problem with the recognition of Kosovo the Western Balkan summit on 17 May in Sofia would take place.
