Mayors of 12 municipalities from the region of Burgas have united for the sake of creating a tourist cluster aimed to boost the development of tourism in the region. Work on creating South Black Sea Coast Region began in 2016 in response to the idea of tourist zoning of Bulgaria laid out in the 2013 Tourism Act.
