There are no grounds to extradite Zhelyaz Andreev and four of his colleagues to the USA and we expressed clearly our stand to this country, Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov said after the meeting with Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov, the Ambassador of the USA to Bulgaria Eric Rubin and Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice Tsetska Tsacheva. The representation of Interpol in Washington issued a notice for the extradition of Zhelyaz Andreev and four other Bulgarians who were employed at the Sofia office of the Miami-based company AW-Tronics. The Bulgarians are accused of violating the Syrian trade embargo and selling prohibited aircraft parts to the Syrian regime. The issue will be discussed with the United States Attorney General who is to participate at the EU-USA meeting in Sofia at the end of May.
