Over 500 people have registered today for the half marathon that takes place in Sofia on May 13th. It includes 4 running distances for beginners and more experienced competitors: 600 m; 5 km; 10 km and the full 21.1 km. The start and finish of the marathon will be in the square in front of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral downtown. Children and students participate for free, after a preliminary registration. The Run4EU event is also part of the half marathon and it has been organized by the Begach /Runner/ sports club within partnership with the Information Bureau of the EC in Bulgaria. The goal of the initiative is to stimulate young people, and mostly students, to live healthier and more actively.
