The Paziteli /Guards/ exhibition unveiled on St. George’s Day in Venice includes 25 icons of artist Lili Vladimirova and 17 sculptures of Academician Krum Damyanov. Curator Prof. Giuliano Pisani says it is ‘a unique dialogue between artists’ due to the successful combination of modern stylistics with classical rendition. The name is not a coincidence, Minister for the Bulgarian EU Presidency Lilyana Pavlova stated at the unveiling. In her speech she reminded that the start of the Bulgarian EU Presidency had coincided with the European Year of Cultural Heritage and that ‘education and culture are the basics of our European identity’. The exhibition will be at the Misericordia Venice gallery till the end of May.
