Bulgaria’s trade with EU increases significantly

Bulgaria’s export to the EU over the January-March 2018 period has gone up by 13.1 percent compared to the same period of 2017, amounting to 8,960.7 million Leva /4,581 million euro/, National Statistical Institute data show.

Major importers from Bulgaria are Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and Belgium. At the same time imports from the EU have increased by 11.4 percent, reaching 9,803.5 million Leva /5,012 million euro/. Bulgaria’s imports are biggest from Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain and Greece. The external balance is negative and amounts to 842.8 million Leva /431 million euro/.
