The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the agreement reached between Athens and Skopje on the name of Macedonia.
In an official declaration it states that the agreement paves the way to Macedonia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry will insist on being given guarantees by the two countries neighbouring on Bulgaria, with which this country maintains relations of partnership and friendship, that these principles will be stated unequivocally and reaffirmed in the agreement between the two.
