Ekaterina Zaharieva calls on EU member states to support Western Balkan countries

At the final Conference of the Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC) held in Sofia Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva called on the National Assemblies of the EU member states to support the European integration of the Western Balkan countries. On June 26 the General Affairs Council will discuss the report on the EU enlargement.  One day after Greece and Macedonia signed the agreement to rename the latter the Republic of North Macedonia, Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov reminded in Sofia that Skopje was expecting to receive an invitation for membership in NATO and the EU.
