Bulgaria and Greece signed an agreement for construction of the gas interconnector between the two countries. The project will be fulfilled by a joint venture. Bulgaria and Greece will have equal participation in the company. Initially the interconnector will have the capacity to transfer 3 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Later, it will reach its maximum capacity of 5.5 billion cubic meters. The interconnector is expected to start functioning until 2020.
