A meeting of the media of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia opened in Bosilegrad, Serbia. It is organized by the Bulgarian news agency BTA and the GLAS association.

The meeting is attended by representatives of the various ethnic communities in Serbia, media from Tsaribrod, Bosilegrad, Buyanovats, Nis, MPs from Serbia and from Bulgaria.

Emphasizing that the discussion aims to resolve controversial issues, BTA Director General Maxim Minchev stated that some of the contentious issues of the minority media in Serbia were already highlighted during the meeting between presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Rumen Radev, and that solutions to some of them have already been found.

Consul General Edvin Sugarev pointed out that in a little over two years, the number of media outlets in the Western Outlands, where the Bulgarian minority in Serbia is concentrated, has gone up, even though there still exist problems connected with pressure exerted by the local authorities, with their standard and contents.
