Bulgarian and US naval military exercise taking place near Varna

A joint military exercise with the participation of ships from the Bulgarian and the US navy is taking place near Varna on the Black Sea. The exercise involves an American destroyer, which is currently in the Black Sea as well as four high-speed boats, gifted to the Bulgarian navy by the US navy.

Before the start of the exercise, Rear Admiral Mitko Petev, commander of the Bulgarian Navy and Vice Admiral Lisa Franchetti, commander of the US Navy’s 6th Fleet, currently deployed in the Black Sea region, laid emphasis on the importance of synchronizing the work and interoperability of the naval forces of the two countries.
