Following the signals about a spill of oil products in the sea water near Saint Ivan island samples of sea water were taken from four different locations - right above the sunken American ship Mopang, 1 kilometer offshore, at Chernomorets beach and at the Central Beach in Sozopol. The water samples were taken at the request of the Black Sea Region Basin Directorate. The water tests showed that there is a small local pollution of the seawater only right above the sunken ship Mopang in the sea section of Saint Ivan Island.
