On 23 September and on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Bulgaria’s Independence, the Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, the Regional Museum of History and the Bulgarian Railroads are organizing a reenactment of the welcoming ceremony with which Tsar Ferdinand was hailed at the Trapezitsa railroad station. Then the declaring of Bulgaria’s Independence will be reenacted and there will be some travelling included with Korona /Crown/ Express – a retro steam train. 110 years ago then Prince Ferdinand and the government arrived by the train from Rousse into Tarnovo and the manifest for declaring the independence was handwritten in the train itself. The historical events will be reenacted by actors from the Konstantin Kisimov Theatre in Veliko Tarnovo and members of the Tradition club. The event is a major part of the nationwide celebrations due to the anniversary and is also included in the National Calendar of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.
