Within the frameworks of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan discussed bilateral cooperation and Turkey’s contribution towards checking the flow of migrants along the border with Bulgaria.

The two stated they attach great importance to the intensification of relations in tourism, power generation and transport in recent years. Boyko Borissov emphasized that Turkey is an important partner for Bulgaria in other spheres as well – migration and combating terrorism. Recep Erdogan expressed gratitude for the EU-Turkey summit organized in Varna in March, which, in his words, pointed relations between Ankara and Brussels in the right direction.
