“No towns or villages are at risk from the fires that have broken out around the country,” Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, Director of the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection said for the BNR.
“We have big fires as a front and in terms of the areas they cover in the region of the villages Srem and Gornoslavtsi in Ivaylovgrad municipality. In Mihiltsi village, Hisarya municipality, the fire has not been localized yet but the organization for extinguishing it is in place. We are expecting more than 50 volunteers and firefighter teams,” Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence has announced that ground troops and air force army personnel are involved in the efforts to extinguish the fires in different regions around the country. Due to the fires, a partial state of emergency has been declared in many parts of the country.
