Manchester Airports Group to participate in tender for concession of Sofia Airport

The biggest British airport operator Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has confirmed its participation in the concession procedure for Sofia Airport. Currently, the company owns and operates three of the main airports in Great Britain-Manchester Airport, London Stansted and East Midlands which serve 60 million passengers a year to over 270 destinations through 70 airlines. The offer of Manchester Airports Group will be supported by China’s construction and engineering company Beijing Construction Engineering Group. The two companies announced that they would invest some EUR 600 million in technologies, infrastructure and improvement of the current facilities at Sofia Airport. They expect to compete with companies from Turkey, France and Germany.
