Athletes from more than 48 countries expected for Sofia Marathon

The 35th edition of the prestigious Wizz Air Sofia Marathon is due on 14 October.

The event is expected to see a record number of athletes – more than 4000, from a record number of countries, 48.

The organizers have provided a big prize fund worth more than 32,000 euro. The amount will be divided among the best runners.

This year participants can choose from among four distances. The shortest and most popular one is 3 km. Other distances are 10.550 km, the semi-Marathon one at 21.098 km and the classical 42.195 км.

The marathon starts at 10 a.m. outside the Vasil Levski National Stadium in the center of Sofia.
