Petar Haralampiev dismissed as chairman of State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad

Petar Haralampiev has been relieved of his post as chairman of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, the government press service has announced.

The Agency’s deputy chairman Dimitar Vladimiorov will be acting as agency head ad interim until a chairman is appointed on a permanent basis.

Petar Haralampiev is currently in custody as a member of the group apprehended in connection with the corruption scandal over the sale of Bulgarian citizenship documents. Haralampiev is allegedly the leader of the criminal group.
