8% of European metallurgy produce manufactured in Bulgaria

Investments in the Bulgarian metallurgical sector amounted to EUR 2.15 billion in the past twenty years. It became clear at the celebrations of the Day of Metallurgist marked at the Pirdop Copper Plant. Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier Tomislav Donchev pointed out that nearly 1% of the world and 8% of the European produce in the metallurgy sector is manufactured in Bulgaria. It also became clear that the metallurgical sector has been experiencing difficulties due to the duties imposed by the USA on the imports of aluminum and steel, the rebalancing measures adopted by the EU and the trade war between the USA and China.
