Christians mark on November 21 the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is considered one of the twelve great feasts. On this day three-year-old Mary (mother of God) was presented by her parents in the temple in Jerusalem. That is why November 21 is also known as the Day of Christian Family and Youth. On this day worshipers take the Holy Communion at the time of the Holy Liturgy. According to folk beliefs, on this day people predict what the weather will be like next year. If the day is warm and sunny, the coming winter will be harsh and the summer will be dry. If the day is rainy, there will be plenty of snow in the winter and rain in the summer which means that the year will be fertile.
