Pope Francis to visit Bulgaria in May

Pope Francis will visit Bulgaria in May next year. This was announced by Argentinian state agency Telam, as quoted by BGNES. The first Balkan tour of the head of the Roman Catholic Church includes visits to Macedonia and Romania. According to initial plans, Pope Francis will hold this tour in the period May 3 - May 7, 2019. Pope Francis has been invited to an official visit to Bulgaria personally by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in the spring during the traditional audience held annually in the Vatican.
