Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality for Transport and Transport Communications Evgeni Krusev has resigned. Krusev was summoned as a defendant by the Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the investigation into the repair of Graf Ignatiev Street in Sofia. The repair works on Graf Ignatiev Street started in May this year and have not been completed yet, although the deadline was set for the middle of October. It was subject to a lot of criticism by the citizens of Sofia over its quality. According to the Bulgarian National Radio, the investigation was launched after a signal of Save Sofia civil initiative. Representatives of Save Sofia said they would continue putting pressure on the municipality until “a person who understands that Sofia needs high-quality and European-like transport” is appointed as Deputy Mayor of Transport.
