The US Company Lockheed Martin denied the information circulating in some media that the fighter aircraft for the Bulgarian Armed Forces will be manufactured in India. The F16 Block 70 fighter aircraft which is the latest version of NATO’s benchmark single-engine figher jet will be manufactured at Lockheed Martin’s production line in Greenville, South Carolina, the company further announces. We have neither planned, nor offered to manufacture F16 for Bulgaria in other countries, including India, James Robinson, International Business Development Senior Manager at Lockheed Martin said. At this stage the Bulgarian cabinet was only given a mandate by this country's National Assembly to begin talks with Lockheed Martin on the acquisition of F16 fighter aircraft and the possible purchase of fighter jets will be subject to a seperate decision of the Bulgarian Parliament.
