President Rumen Radev: 2018 made the world more dynamic and unpredictable

At the reception traditionally given to heads of diplomatic missions in Bulgaria, President Rumen Radev stated that the past year of challenges made the world more dynamic and unpredictable.

International relations were marked by controversy and a heightened feeling that the established system of international organizations is not living up to the expectations of the nations. That is the reason why the vision, and the will to reform them is expected so eagerly.

In President Radev’s words the foreign policy of Bulgaria is aimed at security, stability, dialogue and cooperation. The European integration of the Western Balkans, something this country has been working towards for years, is now an essential element of the debate on the enlargement of the EU, a fact corroborated during Bulgaria’s Presidency of the Council of the EU.
