President Radev meets with Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa

After talks in Lisbon, the Presidents of Bulgaria and Portugal – Rumen Radev and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa - stated their support for a reform of European migration and asylum policies.

They expressed kindred positions on other issues on the EU agenda, among them Brexit. Rumen Radev informed his counterpart of Bulgaria’s position on Mobility Package 1. The President of Portugal welcomed Bulgaria’s efforts aimed at the European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans, while the President of Bulgaria expressed gratitude for Portugal’s positive attitude to the Bulgarian community on its territory.

Today President Rumen Radev is to hold talks with Prime Minister António Costa and with the President of Portuguese Parliament Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues.
