Interest in Bulgaria’s energy projects up

General Electric sent a letter with the intention to participate at the competition for construction of Belene nuclear power plant, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova announced. Macedonia and Montenegro are also interested in participating in the project. The third phase of the market test for the capacity of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline has ended successfully. Three suppliers have shown interest to fill 100% of the gas pipe section from the Bulgaria-Turkey border to the Bulgaria-Serbia border, Minister Petkova also announced and added that other companies will be able to book the gas facilities after the launch of the gas pipeline which is in line with the EU requirement for free access and competition. The annual profit of Bulgartransgaz from the extension of the Turkish Stream via Bulgaria is expected to exceed EUR 185 million.
