World and two-time European champion Stanimira Petrova has won the women’s finals in the 57 kg category of the 70th edition of the oldest international boxing tournament in Europe – Strandzha Cup.
At the tournament in Sofia, the Bulgarian boxer won the last battle against Romanian Lacramioara Perijoc. After the end of her fight Petrova received the Strandzha Cup for the third time in her career. Second remained Brazilian Beatrice Ferreira, and Russian Elmira Azizova placed third.
The prestigious competition involved over 190 male boxers and 100 female boxers from 39 countries of five continents, with Bulgaria represented by 19 men and 12 women.
