The Bulgarian delegation at the session of the EU General Affairs Council in Brussels encouraged the Romanian Presidency to speed up work on drafting the EU financial framework for 2020-2027.

Sofia believes that to reach agreement on the framework by October this year, special attention needs to be given to structuring and focusing the discussions at various levels in a way that will prevent a repetition of position already well known.

The Bulgarian delegation stated its support for the proposal that the meeting of the European Council, scheduled for March, focus mainly on issues connected with the single market, industrial policy, climate change and relations with China.
