Culinary records prepared in Bansko on occasion of World Ski Cup 2019

The mayor of Bansko Georgi Ikonomov will cook the biggest kapama (local meat and vegetable stew) on the central town square especially for the World Ski Cup Bansko 2019. Mayor Ikonomov will prepare the tasty meal on February 23 with the help of local elderly women. The concomitant program of the big sports event begins on February 22 with a culinary exhibition and performances of folklore groups from the Pirin region. Local producers and restaurant-keepers will present authentic delicacies and wines.

The ski competitions will be held on February 22, 23 and 24. Men will compete in Alpine Combined, Super G and Giant Slalom. In 2019 Bansko hosts the 6th edition of World Ski Cup. In 2017 and 2018 the town hosted a Snowboard World Cup as well. The fast disciplines Super G and Giant Slalom will be held on Marc Girardelli ski slope and the slalom which is part of the Alpine combination will be held on Alberto Tomba ski slope. 150 athletes are expected to take part at the Bansko Ski World Cup 2019.
