Bulgaria’s Civil Aviation Administration Chief Directorate has ordered that this country’s airspace be closed to flights of Boeing 737 Max 8, including the planes taking off and landing at Bulgarian airports, except for ferry flying. However, Bulgaria will guarantee maintenance and safe landing to such aircraft in case of extraordinary or emergency situation. The measures were taken in line with the safety directive issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency related to the flights of Boeing 737 Max 8. The agency said it would be grounding all flights involving the plane, widening a prohibition to all EU member states.
