Veliko Turnovo attracts tourists with a varied week-long cultural programme to mark the day of the city

Events of all genres are featured in Veliko Turnovo’s cultural programme marking the day of the city – March 22.

One of the highlights on 21 March is connected with the joint concert by the Big Band – Veliko Turnovo and the Junior Band of the Emilian Stanev secondary school, featuring one of Bulgaria’s top clarinetists Ilia Iliev.

On Veliko Turnovo day guests to the city will be able to visit the Holy Forty Martyrs museum-church, Tsarevets fortress and the Revival and Constituent Assembly Museum, free of charge. A guided tour of the churches St. Dimitar and Saints Peter and Paul, organized by the Regional Museum of History begins at 2 PM, and it too is free of charge.

The International Animation Film Festival Golden Kuker is expected to attract a great many children on 23 and 24 March. There will be free screenings, as well as many creative workshops for children, as well as for professionals. ​
