Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and European Parliament President Antonio Tajani met in Brussels to confer on the question of the discussion of the Mobility Package by the European Parliament.

Antonio Tajani explained that the package would be discussed on Wednesday, as proposed by Guy Verhofstadt, group leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) at EP, to be voted next week in Strasbourg.

“I think that this is in breach of the regulations, because this is the first time that a text will be submitted to the plenary hall after being rejected by the transport committee,” Boyko Borissov said. According to the Bulgarian prime minister the decision on the Mobility Package should be made by the members of the next European Parliament. In the event of the document being voted, Bulgarian road hauliers plan to stage a protest in front of the European Parliament building in Strasbourg.
