Strandzha manna honey enters EU list of protected geographical indications

Another Bulgarian food product was included by the European Commission in the EU list of protected geographical indications-The Strandzha manna honey. The dark brown honey is produced in the region of Strandzha Mountain which is part of the Natura 2000 network of protected areas. On April 4 the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Phil Hogan and Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel will hand in the certificate to Manol Todorov, Chairman of Strandzha Manna Honey Bee-keeping Society. A representative of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food will also receive the certificate.
