Minister Zaharieva’s visit to USA continues

Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva met in Washington with the Assistant to the US President, Director of Trade and Industrial Policy, Director of the White House National Trade Council Peter Navarro. Zaharieva and Navarro discussed the acquisition of F-16 fighter aircraft and voiced expectations that the countries would sign a good deal. At meetings with the United States Attorney General William Barr and the Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee Ron Johnson Minister Zaharieva discussed the topic related the abolishment of the visa regime for Bulgarian nationals. Ekaterina Zaharieva underlined that the number of visa refusals fell with over 3% and delays are at 1.5% only. Minister Zaharieva discussed with the member of the Republican Party and member of the Utah House of Representatives Mike McKell Bulgaria’s membership at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the signature of a bilateral social agreement between Bulgaria and USA as well as partnership in energy security, integration of the Western Balkans, the situation in Syria and Iran and the crisis in Venezuela.
