Construction of Bulgaria-Greece gas interconnector to start within three weeks

A forum themed “Unlocking the Potential of Business in Eastern Europe Gas Market- Competition, Alternatives, Markets, Projects, Security Through Diversification. The Case of LNG” is held for the second consecutive day in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia. It is organized by the Institute for Energy Research in Washington D.C. and the Center for Balkan and Black Sea Studies. The construction of the Bulgaria-Greece gas interconnector will start around May 25, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov announced. Premier Borissov also said that Bulgaria and the USA will start negotiations on the supply of American natural gas. A platform for trade with natural gas will be launched in Bulgaria by the end of 2019, which is part of the overall strategy for diversification of energy supplies, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova announced.
