Bulgaria to continue using its coal-fired power plants

Bulgarian  Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said that Bulgaria was strictly following EU requirements for full decarbonisation of energy but in the next 60 years it would continue using the coal resources in the Maritsa Basin. According to the minister, over the past decade the business has invested over 500 million euro in modernization of the coal-fired power plants located in this area.
