Bulgaria’s climber Ivan Tomov, who became yesterday the third Bulgarian who summited Lhotse Peak and the second Bulgarian who did that without supplementary oxygen, has died in the Himalayas, the company which organizes the expedition announced. Several days ago hurricane winds destroyed Tomov’s tent and he had to borrow sports equipment in order to continue. Earlier, Ivan Tomov told the Bulgarian National Radio that he had not been able to recover from a cough, but would risk and try to continue.
