A Canadian parachuter died in an accident during a large-scale military NATO exercise at Cheshnegirovo airport near Plovdiv. During night skydiving the parachute of the perished Canadian parachuter failed to open due to technical reasons. Three US military men were injured during the nigh jumps, because they were too close to each other. They suffered limb fractures. The incidents are investigated by the Military Police. The Swift Response 19 is a US Army Europe-directed exercise held between June 13 and 25 in Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania. It is led by the US Global Response Force. Some 5,600 military men from 8 countries, including 1,494 parachuters, participate in the military exercise.
