Bulgarian climber Atanas Skatov climbed Gasherbrum II peak (8,035 m.) in Karakorum Mountain, Pakistan.

This is the ninth eight-thousander conquered by the 41-year old Bulgarian climber, and his third for this season. On 15 May he climbed the world’s third tallest peak Kangchenjunga (8,586 m.), and on 12 July – Gasherbrum I (8,080 m.).

Atanas Skatov’s aim is to attain the so-called Crown of the Himalayas, bestowed on climbers who have conquered all 14 eight-thousanders on the planet. So far he has climbed 9.
