President Radev vetoes ratification of F-16 aircraft deal

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has vetoed the ratification of the deal for new fighter jets for the Air Force. The head of state has returned to parliament the ratification of agreements related to the acquisition of F-16 Block 70 from the United States. President Radev has pointed out that sharp disputes in the National Assembly had shown that there is no public consensus on the terms of the contract. According to the President, the shortened legislative procedure has caused a number of important points, such as prices, guarantees, delivery times, penalties, damages, etc. to remain unclear.
