President Rumen Radev contests amendments allowing donations to political parties in the Constitutional Court

The recent amendments to the Political Parties Act and the Election Code, by force of which legal entities and sole proprietors will be allowed to make donations to political parties, were contested by President Rumen Radev in the Constitutional Court. 

According to President Radev the disputed provisions substitute the interest, in the name of which parties carry out their activities, undermine the constitutional foundations of the Bulgarian political system and jeopardize pluralism and political life in the country.
