The Bulgarian National Assembly approved at a second reading a bill to cut the state subsidy for the political parties from EUR 5.62 to EUR 0.51 per valid vote. 119 MPs from GERB, Ataka, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Volya parties voted in favor of the proposal of the Bulgarian cabinet. The reduction of the subsidies for the political parties will be enforced with the promulgation of the act in State Gazette. The Bulgarian Parliament also allowed the political parties to receive donations from natural and legal persons who have no overdue public liabilities and are not offshore companies.
