Bulgarian Todor Dimitrov completes world’s longest marathon

Bulgarian Todor Dimitrov raised the Bulgarian flag in New York after finishing  the world’s longest road race – the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race (almost 5,400 kms.) in 51 days, 17 hours, 8 minutes and 38 seconds.

This makes Todor Dimitrov one of 44 runners in the world to have completed the race in its 22-year long history. In the Sri Chinmoy Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race, also known as the “Mount Everest of ultramarathons”, the runners run in the course of 52 days in Queens, New York, making more than 5,600 laps.
