The detected case of anthrax in North Macedonia is not a threat to Bulgaria. According to the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, anthrax is a disease typical of our region and is not among the group of human-to-human and animal-to-animal transmitted diseases. The disease is caused by a bacillus that the animals absorb with their fodder. In all cases of doubt, livestock farmers should inform their veterinarian and take the necessary measures, the Food Safety Agency informs.
