1,500 tourists, most of them from Bulgaria and Romania, remain blocked for the 4th day on the Greek island of Samothraki after the two ferries from the Kamariotissa – Alexandroupolis broke down.

Vladimir Pisanchev, Bulgaria’s Consul General to Thessaloniki, stated that the ferry Andros Jet, with a capacity of 600 people and 75 cars, is expected to arrive on the island at around 10 PM tonight. It will continue to sail along the route on Thursday until all tourists have been evacuated.

One free meal a day in several restaurants in the vicinity of the harbour, as well as free overnight accommodation is available to the Bulgarian tourists blocked on Samothraki, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry says. They have been provided by the local authorities.
