Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov visited the Maltepe burial mound- the largest mound in the Balkans near the village of Manole (Plovdiv district). Premier Borissov greeted the archaeologists for their excellent job. During the current archaeological season a team of the Plovdiv Museum of Archaeology discovered at that site an impressive 20 meters tall tower tomb with the shape of a pyramid built with stone and bricks. So far, this is the only ancient building of such size preserved in Europe. The coins, clay pottery and marble architectural elements discovered at the site date back to the 2nd and the 3rd century AD
