National Revenue Agency to pay EUR 2.6 million fine in connection with recent leak of personal data

The National Revenue Agency was fined EUR 2.6 million in connection with the leak of personal data of over 5 million Bulgarians, the Chairman of the Commission for Personal Data Protection Ventsislav Karadzhov told BTV. The National Revenue Agency will have three days to appeal against the decision of the Commission for Personal Data Protection, Mr Karadzhov specified. This fine is sufficient and takes into account the responsible behavior of the revenue agency, Ventsislav Karadzhov further said. The National Revenue Agency announced that it appealed the administrative violation act issued by the Commission for Personal Data Protection in time. The revenue agency will also appeal the penal decree of the Commission for Personal Data Protection which fines NRA with EUR 2.6 million.
