Mihail Kasabov was appointed an interim President of the Bulgarian Football Union. Kasabov was until now Vice-President of BFU. Earlier this week the former President of the football union Borislav Mihaylov handed in his resignation. Later, the other Vice-President Atanas Furnadzhiev and all members of the Executive Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union also resigned. The coach of the Bulgarian football team Krasimir Balakov also resigned. Balakov coached the national football team in six matches and did not manage to win a single victory. The latest developments came after the Euro 2020 football qualifier Bulgaria-England. Bulgaria lost 0:6 and the match was interrupted twice due to racist chants of a group of Bulgarian football fans.
