Bulgaria believes that sustainable solution to the Syrian conflict can be achieved only through diplomatic means

A meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of Defense Ministers was held on October 24 and 25 in Brussels, Belgium. A Bulgarian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov participated at the meeting on behalf of this country’s Minister of Defense. The latest events in Syria, the operations and the missions of NATO were in the focus of discussions during the forum. In his speech, Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov presented the Bulgarian position that a permanent solution to the Syrian conflict can be achieved only through diplomatic means under the auspices of the United Nations. Bulgaria will continue to provide consistent support to the international community to reach global peace and security, this country’s position further reads.
